Find your assigned lesson

  1. 1
    Sign in to BurlingtonEnglish

Use the school-approved sign-in method you already use. The Course Hub will never ask for your Burlington password.

    Choose Courses

Open Burlington Core, then choose Student Lessons.

  3. 3
    Match the assignment shown here

Choose the level, module, lesson number, and lesson title that Dr. Vinnie made available in the Course Hub.

  4. 4

Read or listen to the instructions, answer the activity, check your answer, and continue until the assigned lesson is complete.

  5. 5
    Check Progress when you finish

MY PORTFOLIO

When you save writing

Writing activities can be saved to My Portfolio. Dr. Vinnie can review saved work and leave a comment. If you need to revise your work, return to the Student Lesson, edit the writing, and save the new version to Portfolio.

If you see a teacher commentRead the comment, return to the writing activity if changes are needed, revise it, then save again.

PROGRESS

Know what is finished

Progress can show Student Lesson completion, scores, and time. A lower score means you may want another try or some help; it does not mean a Course Hub button is broken.

Before you leave BurlingtonCheck whether the assigned lesson shows as complete. If something does not look right, message Dr. Vinnie with the module and lesson number.

DIGITAL BASICS

If the screen feels confusing

Click or tap onceGive the page a moment to respond before clicking again.
Make it largerUse Burlington’s Zoom or Full Screen control when available, or your browser’s zoom.

Keep passwords privateDo not send your Burlington password in a Course Hub message. Use Burlington’s approved password-recovery process if needed.
Describe the problemTell Dr. Vinnie the course, module, lesson, and button name. A screenshot can also help if your class policy allows it.
Still stuck? You can ask the Course Helper for plain-language directions or send Dr. Vinnie a private message.

TEACH A BURLINGTON LESSON

The shortest route

  1. 1
    Sign in and choose Courses

Open the Burlington course you are teaching.

  2. 2
    Open In-Class Lessons

Choose the same module and lesson that you intend to teach.

  3. 3
    Teach the In-Class Lesson

Use the activity directions and answer controls inside the licensed Burlington environment.

  4. 4
    Preview the Student Lesson

Use Burlington’s course switcher to move to Student Lessons and check what students will complete independently.

  5. 5
    Use Course Hub visibility controls

Back in drvinnie.online, mark the matching Course Hub lesson Available, Scheduled, or Locked. This changes Course Hub visibility only.

MY PORTFOLIO

Review writing and comments

In Burlington, choose the course and My Portfolio, then select the class and student. Saved work can include earlier versions. Use the teacher-comment control to leave feedback, and use the saved versions to discuss revision and growth.

Useful classroom routineAsk students to read your comment, return to the Student Lesson, revise the writing, and save a new Portfolio version.

PROGRESS

Use data for a short student conversation

Progress can be filtered by class, student, Student Lessons, and time period. Review the whole course, a module, or an individual lesson, then look at completion, scores, and time together rather than reading one number in isolation.

Questions to askIs the lesson complete? Is there a pattern in scores? Is time unusually short or long? What support should happen next?

DIGITAL-LITERACY SUPPORT

Keep the student routine predictable

Preview firstAfter an In-Class Lesson, show students where the matching Student Lesson is and what completion looks like.
Name the buttonWhen helping remotely, use the button name shown in the student help page instead of describing only its shape or location.
Set one clear goalTell students which module and lesson to complete and whether they should check Progress afterward.
Use the same help routeStudents can always return to Burlington Help in the Course Hub while the ESL/Burlington track is active.
Keep credentials separateThe Course Hub does not collect Burlington passwords and its visibility controls do not change Burlington licensing.
Escalate by exact locationAsk for the course, module, lesson, and button name when troubleshooting.

PRIVATE SOURCE BOUNDARY

Guide files stay private

The exact Burlington teacher/student guides, button keys, My Portfolio guide, and Progress guide are registered in the private source map for instructor support. Their Drive IDs and filenames are excluded from the public Netlify package.

This page paraphrases navigation and support functions. It does not publish the underlying proprietary PDFs or authenticated Burlington screens.
